So first of all, let's just establish one thing - I am a french fry fanatic (just ask my husband!). To me, there is no better snack than a perfectly crispy, piping-hot french fry. Growing up, my family didn't eat out much, so the only fries that I had were frozen and then oven-baked. And they never came out of the oven crispy! As a result, I always stayed away from oven-baked fries. But due to my intense love for fries, I set out to figure out an easy way to make crispy oven-baked fries at home. And to my french fry delight, I figured it out! The secret - parchment paper! I promise you, if you make this recipe, you will become addicted - and you won't even be mad about it!

  • 4 large russet potatoes
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • Salt & fresh-cracked pepper to taste

  1. Preheat oven to 400° F (205° C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

  2. Cut potatoes into quarter-inch wide slices. Stack a few of the slices and cut them into quarter-inch wide fries. Tip: I love to keep the skins on because they add a great crispiness and additional nutrition, but if you don't like the skins, you can easily peel the potatoes before cutting them!

  3. Place the cut potatoes into a container that has a lid. Pour in the olive oil, cover with lid, and shake vigorously until the fries are thoroughly coated in the olive oil.

  4. Lay fries out on the parchment-lined pan, separated just enough that they don't touch. Add salt and pepper to taste.

  5. Bake fries until browned and crispy on the outside, about 20-25 minutes. Be sure to flip them at least once halfway through to make sure they are crispy on all sides. Tip: Oven heats can vary. If your fries aren't crispy after 20-25 minutes, leave them in there until they are done. Fries shouldn't bend when picked up.

  6. Enjoy!
