American Brown Ale:

Sweet and nutty with notes of chocolate, caramel, and citrusy hops, American brown ales pair well with hearty, rich dishes, as their sweet, roasted character allows them to cut through the richness of heavier dishes!

Recommendations: Some of our favorite widely-available examples include Bell’s Best Brown Ale, Surly Bender, and Avery Ellie’s Brown Ale!

Pairings: Try pairing an American brown ale with our Vegan Mac and Cheese!

Belgian Pale Ale:

Belgian pale ales are endlessly thirst-quenching, characterized by a light hoppy flavor paired with spicy Belgian yeast notes that truly differentiate them from other styles of pale ale!

Recommendations: Some great examples of the style include Orval Trappist Ale, Allagash Hoppy Table Beer, and Revolution A Little Crazy (a local Chicago favorite!).

Pairings: Try pairing a Belgian pale ale with our Vegan Miso Ramen!

German Pilsner:

Refreshing and highly drinkable, German pilsners are brewed to be crisp and clean, making them extremely versatile when pairing with food! They also tend to be more hop-forward than other similar lagers, resulting in a flavor profile that is spicy and floral with distinct citrus notes!

Recommendations: Classic, widely-available examples include Victory Prima Pils and Firestone Walker Pivo Pils. And if you happen to have access to beer from St. Louis-based Urban Chestnut Brewing Company, we highly recommend picking up Urban Chestnut's Stammtisch!

Pairings: Try pairing a crisp, refreshing German pilsner with our Black Bean Burgers or Crispy Oven-Baked Fries!
